Hadashi de Bara wo Fume

Hadashi de Bara wo Fume (or Stepping on roses barefoot) by Ueda Rinko was a funny and yet dramatic manga. However some, if not all of the time, the main character Sumi Kitamura was just too slow for words. Sumi's stupidity aside I enjoyed the manga overall and was happy it was completed (even if I disliked the ending lol).

p.s. As this manga goes on it gets a bit mature.

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Historical, Psychological, Romance, Shoujo, Slice of life

Summary:

Sumi Kitamura is a poor girl living in Meiji Era. To make it worse, she has six unrelated by blood baby brothers and sisters, and an older brother that left town trying to get away from his debts. In order to get money Sumi goes wandering through the streets trying to sell herself for two thousand yen. Almost being raped by a man who would not pay, another man appears agreeing to pay the full amount only if she marries him and throws away all her love for money.

SNAFU

Who here likes Fanfics? Well, I know I do :) This is like the best of both worlds right here for all of us nerds (and I say that lovely). SNAFU Comics is like a fanfic and a manga combined. I have been reading these comics for years now and I just sadly noticed I haven't mentioned it yet.

There are twenty two comics listed at the moment - I am unaware if they will post any new ones. I am not going to lie, Grim Tales is my favorite <3

Take the time to stop and peek at the website if you haven't already~

Reimei no Arcana

Reimei no Arcana by Toma Rei was defiantly an interesting and funny manga. I can't wait for the next update on mangasky.com. I recommend this manga for those readers who are searching for a good comedy/fantasy manga.

Genres: Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Historical, Romance, Shoujo

Summary:

"On that day, I became the enemy's possesion," Nakaba thought as she stood there, knowing her destiny was to be married for convenience to keep the peace between her country Senan and Prince Caesar's country, Belquat; two neighbor countries on a island. Between the two countries there has been a constant war for 200 years and Nakaba has become a sacrificial goat for her country despite the discrimination to her red hair and to the 'sub-person' (half-human, half-animal) Loki, who is her only friend and attendant at Caesar's estranged palace. But what will Nakaba do when she foresees an event pertaining to Prince Caesar's demise? Will she save him? Or let him die in return to all the hate directed towards her by the people of Belquat?

Yaoi?

On another note I haven't been able to find a really interesting yaoi manga lately... not even a good fanfic although I wasn't looking that hard. I want something just as awesome as You're my love prize in the viewfinder (or Finder Series) by Yamane Ayano, Dog Style by Montoni Mondoru,  or Ai No Kusabi by Rieko Yoshihara.

Any recommendations?

L-DK

L-DK  by Ayu Watanabe is too cute and funny. Like most shoujo mangas the relationship seemed kind of rushed in the beginning but since I have read all the chapters out to date on Manga2u.com (listed on the right hand side) I know I will be keeping up with this one.

Genres: Romance, Shoujo, slice of life,

Summary:
The series tells about how Aoi Nishimori, and the school prince, Shuusei Kugayama, come to live together, and how Aoi's hatred for Shuusei, because he rudely rejected her best friend, becomes love.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume

Shinryaku! Ika Musume (or Invade! Squid Girl) is by Masahiro Anbe and has an anime adaptation by Diomedea. I have only watched the anime on Netflix but I am thinking of reading the manga to see the differences, because there always are differences between the anime and manga. I wonder why that is...? Anyway, that anime was just as fun and silly (maybe even brainless) as the summary explains below. I thought it was a nice break from essays for my classes lol.

Genre: Comedy, Slice of life

Summary:

Squid Girl is a girl from the sea who possesses squid-like tentacles. She vows to invade mankind as revenge for its pollution of the ocean. Her first task is to make the Lemon beach house, owned by the Aizawa siblings, her base of operations. However, when she accidentally breaks a hole in their wall, she is forced to work as a waitress to pay off the damages. Thus, Squid Girl begins her life on the surface, learning new things and encountering many curious visitors to the beach house.

Update~

Hey manga readers~

So an update with myself (and of course a manga or two as well ;3 ). I am not going to lie, I haven't been reading manga or watching anime lately. Randomly, we were reunited at three o'clock in the morning one Monday night/ Tuesday morning and I'm hooked again. Big thanks to Naruto, Bleach and lastly my curiosity.I was sad to see they didn't that much further from when I had last read both sometime in 2012.
Anywho, thanks to Manga2u.com (which the link is on the right hand side of this blog) I have been looking into a lot of Shoujo and/or adventure mangas lately (and maybe my own love-life is aiding it on...). I have also watched a few animes I will be posting :)

So be on the look out for some new post and thanks for keeping up with this blog,

Nerd In Heels~
